In 2021, I illustrated the Gold Cup final.
I created two versions before the match — one with Mexico lifting the trophy, and one with the US.
Only one would be posted.
The US won, and my Mexico piece never saw the light.
Four years later, Mexico and the US faced each other again.
This time, Sportfive asked me to create a single piece after the match — an ambitious infinite zoom for the winner.
I was hoping it would be Mexico.
And they won. 2–1. Their 10th Gold Cup.
And this time, my art made it out there.
